DESMOND CHILD Inks Deal With UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING GROUP

December 8, 2010

According to Billboard.biz, songwriter-producer Desmond Child (born John Charles Barrett) — who has worked with AEROSMITH, ALICE COOPER, KISS, SCORPIONS, DREAM THEATER and MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil, among many others — has signed an exclusive, worldwide co-publishing agreement with Universal Music Publishing Group.

Child's list of accolades includes Grammy awards, 70 Top 40 singles, and songs that have sold over 300 million albums worldwide. AEROSMITH's Steven Tyler told Rolling Stone magazine about Desmond, "The first time we met, we wrote 'Angel' in about an hour and 45 minutes — and I'm not bullshitting. The guy's a fucking genius."

KISS guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley asked Desmond to co-write a track for the band's 1979 "Dynasty" album. The result was "I Was Made for Loving You", which is still one of the biggest hits in the KISS catalogue.

Some of the songs that were written, co-written and/or produced by Desmond Child:

* KISS - "I Was Made for Lovin' You"
* KISS - "Heaven's on Fire"
* AEROSMITH - "Angel"
* AEROSMITH - "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)"
* ALICE COOPER - "Poison"
* ACE FREHLEY - "Hide Your Heart"
* DREAM THEATER - "You Not Me"
* VINCE NEIL - "Promise Me"
* SEBASTIAN BACH - "Falling Into You"
* SCORPIONS - "Humanity"
